Photographer Shirley Strom. Motivated by her love of nature and the beauty of the natural world, Shirley Strom wishes to share with you her nature portraits. She pursues her passion of photography literally in her own backyard. Her certified Backyard Wildlife Habitat affords her a wide range of subjects, with occasional side trips for other subjects.

Her work has been recognized. In 2002 “Etude in G Major” to second place in the St. Cloud US Bank art contest photography division. She repeated the honor in 2003 with “Thumbelina’s Prince”. “Black Swallowtail” was entered in Sister Kenny’s International Art Competition in 2003 and chosen by Snyder Drug to be in their 2004 calendar. In 2005 “Winter Magic” won honorable mention at Robbin Gallery. In 2006 “Color Inside the Lines” won honorable mention at the Paramount‘s Art a la carte. The Loon and Turtles & Eagle pair have received individual award at the Sister Kenny competition. In December 2010 Shirley’s piece called “Christmas Cards” was juried into the “Extremely Minnesota” exhibit at Robbin Gallery. In 2012 “Breathtaking” received  an honorable mention at the Sister Kenny competition. In 2013 “Gossamer Wings” won a monetary award at Sister Kenny, as did “Winter Finery” in 2014 in Courage Kenny.
