Low-Income Apartments for Seniors

At Good Shepherd, we believe that all seniors deserve the chance to live and age gracefully and affordably. Good Shepherd is an active participant in the Housing and Urban Development (HUD) program, which provides affordable housing to older adults ages 62+ with low, very low, or extremely low income and disabled adults 18+ with low income.

Whether you’re looking for a fulfilling, engaging senior community to take part in or you’re tired of dealing with yardwork and maintenance, the low-income apartments at Good Shepherd offer a secure and comfortable living environment where friends are close, and help is never far away.

Please note: Low-income apartments are only available on the Sauk Rapids campus.

Good Shepherd Homes, Inc. (GSA)

are a low-income housing option for adults age 62+. We also have six mobility-accessible apartments available to people 18+ if they have low income and show the need for accessible features.

Common areas include a library, coffee room/tenant kitchenette, community/dining room, family lounges on each floor, and an outside patio with gardens and a gazebo.

For those who need extra care, Assisted Living services are a supplement to all the features and amenities provided by living in an apartment. Good Shepherd Homes, Inc. (GSA) is a licensed Assisted Living by the State of Minnesota.

Our basic package of Assisted Living services features nurse liaison services, 24-hr RN on-call support to assist caregivers, awake caregivers on-site 24/7, emergency pendant and emergency response assistance, weekly light housekeeping and laundry, arranging appointments, monthly vitals, and group life enrichment opportunities. More comprehensive personal care services are available based upon a nursing assessment, delivered with a customized care plan, and paid ala carte.

Shepherd Oak Apartments

are a very low-income housing option for adults age 62+. Common areas include a community room, family dining room, exercise room, library, and lounges.

For those who need extra care, Good Shepherd offers Supportive Services for residents of both Shepherd Oak and Shepherd Oak West provided through our Comprehensive Home Care License.
