Carol Wingard (Teigen)

I have always been interested in art and remember at an early age loving coloring books, paint by number, and any piece of paper and a drawing pencil. Both my mother, Leatrice, who is a resident here, and my late father, Charles, encouraged and supported my interest in art. My father was also an artist, and I attribute my artistic talent for drawing and painting primarily to him. For that reason, my paintings are signed with my maiden name of Teigen.

Primary influence for my paintings are animals and nature. I am inspired by the beauty of God’s creation, and it renews my spirit to be in nature and paint an interpretation of what I see.

My work has been exhibited in various juried and non-juried shows at The Landscape Arboretum, Hopkins Art Center, Minnetonka Center for the Arts, The Sower Gallery, Robbinsdale Gallery, and The Artistry.

I hope you enjoy my paintings, that it takes you away for a bit from the worries of life, and reminds you to pause and notice the beauty around us.

I am pleased to share this exhibit with my niece Kari, who is a very talented photographer!

Kari Jo Markham (Teigen)

Some of my earliest memories are sitting around the table drawing and coloring with my parents and grandparents. And my mom with her Canon camera capturing memories. This is where my creative and artsy side for my photos originally began.

My photography is a curated collection of various equine, landscape, and wildlife photography shot throughout the northern and western United States. It is my hope that you see the beauty of creation through my lens, transporting you to an awe-inspiring location, evoking a sense of wonder and capturing the sense of adventure.

I reside in Delano, Minnesota along the South Fork of the Crow River enjoying the wildlife and sights the different seasons bring. And I am honored to exhibit here at Good Shepherd along my talented Aunt Carol.
